The Design
The appeal of this design is as much about the outdoors as it is indoors. The park-like surroundings, mature trees, and a lake provide a peaceful and inspiring backdrop and a calming sense of place. This design lets the client enjoy the relaxing district views from the sunny, deep verandah. The carefully considered orientation and elevated position ensure the ‘Modern Country Style’ kitchen island, open dining, and living areas are filled with natural light all year-round. Both bedrooms are generous in size, and the master is fitted with an ensuite bathroom.
Material
The house is clad in Zincalume Steel, drawing back the home to the typical Australian shed vernacular. Modernised with Silvertop Ash timber that softens the module ends, connecting it back to the surrounding landscape. Combined with pragmatic planning creates a clean, minimal design—the high finishing of using parapets with box gutters and concealed downpipes reinforces this.
Sustainable Features
Through clever design choices and the inclusion of eco-friendly materials and technologies, this is a home both the client and the planet will feel good about.
