The Design
Located off the northeast coast of mainland Tasmania and the largest island within the Furneaux Group, Flinders Island is the ultimate escape surrounded by wild, rugged beauty.
High-level window recesses create privacy and capture the morning sun, whilst also flooding the internal spaces with soft light.
Materials
Comprising a single module with a joinery wall, the home is clad externally in Japanese charred timber, blending seamlessly into the natural surroundings.
A Blackwood timber-lined ceiling sourced from Tasmania’s North West adds a striking focal point, with the deep chocolate brown tones adding warmth and interest.
Layout
A clever layout enhances spatial flow, with the home comprising 1 bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and dining space and a considered living space with cosy built-in seating.
