The Design
The concept was to transform the Golden Ratio, also known as “The Most Beautiful Number In The Universe”, into the house plan and elevation. The design creates wholesomeness and well-being, embracing the occupants and anyone else interacting with the space. Set high in the hills of the western port hill looking over Phillip Island. This iconic location is windswept, sun-drenched and beautiful.
Featured specifications
This retreat home is highly functional, featuring an internal courtyard to escape the winds, allowing for a year-round outside space. The living-dining room doors open outwards to create an alfresco living with views of the Ocean and Cape Woolamai to be appreciated. The cladding used is Japanese timber and is entirely off-grid with water tanks connected.
