Summer
Escapes
Sit back, relax and enjoy the sun.
Taking a break is necessary to recharge and allows our minds and bodies to rest, recoup and relax. Many studies have found that pausing to reboot is essential for achieving productivity, success, and a positive mindset.
With summer well and truly here, we reflect on 5 popular perfect for a relaxing beachside getaway.
From completed homes, recently installed designs, upcoming projects we love, and our range of ark sea set designs – there is a home for everyone.
1. Portsea Beach House
Our Portsea Beach house lives and breathes simplicity, with the home specifically designed to open up and become one with nature.
This openness not only provides a deep connection with local native flora and fauna, but also creates a sense of community and connection with the neighbouring homes.
The site’s careful orientation allows for maximum enjoyment of passive solar principles, with the morning sun streaming in through the eastern windows.

2. Anglesea Beach House
An idyllic beachside escape located in the scenic Victorian town of Anglesea, The Anglesea Beach house has been designed as a relaxing escape with space to accommodate the whole family, friends, and guests.
With expansive decking areas, a shaded pergola, an outdoor BBQ, and an outside social area overlooking the gorgeous pool, this home is well-equipped for the warmer weather.
We mindfully selected the interior finishes at our Anglesea Beach House to create a sophisticated, yet relaxing space, perfect for a beach-side getaway. In the kitchen, impressive gradients of rich greys from the Signorino grey terrazzo splashback and Caesarstone benchtops in Rugged Concrete are offset by the warm timber veneer joinery in Lemon Myrtle.

3. Shoreham House
Located on the eastern shoreline of the Mornington Peninsula, the Shoreham house draws inspiration from the gorgeous native Banksia integrifolia enveloping the site.
Our client desired a space to escape the holiday crowds that collected along the western shore of the Mornington Peninsula, so they sought the quiet alternative of Shoreham.
The home maximises the natural landscape, with a mindfully designed layout creating light-filled rooms that frame the views. Bathed in the northern sun, the open plan living-dining space centres the home and captures the coastal bush setting to the south.
Spare rooms for friends and guests are positioned for privacy, with sliding doors used to close off spaces or stay open to socialise and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings.

4. Sandy Point Beach House
Set amongst the beach trees northwest of Wilson Promontory, this off-the-grid holiday home eschews the clichés of traditional beach side escapes – creating a sustainable haven where land and sea merge.
The contemporary home maintains a striking street presence, whilst being set sensitively into the surrounding environment. Employing passive solar design principles, the home is built with thermally efficient materials, careful north-facing orientation, and expansive double glazing.
The floor plan over two levels is cleverly proportioned to provide multiple living areas and a division between private and social spaces.

5. Ark S2 – Modern, Mindful & Sustainable
A modern, mindful and sustainable design. The Ark S2 design uses two separate wings to create a living zone and a sleeping zone. These zones are joined via the entry space, which functions as an airlock between the space to ensure efficient use of the heating and cooling systems within the home.
The ‘H’ shape floor plan establishes strong connections through arms that reach out into the site, offering the opportunity to visually and physically connect to its environment.
