Sit Back, Relax and Enjoy the Sun!
Taking a break is necessary to recharge and allows our minds and bodies to rest, recoup and relax. Many studies have found that pausing to reboot is essential for achieving productivity, success, and a positive mindset.
With summer well and truly here, we reflect on 5 popular modular designs perfect for a relaxing beachside getaway. From completed homes, recently installed designs, upcoming projects we love, and our range of Ark sea set designs – there is a home for everyone.
1. Portsea Beach House
The Portsea Beach house lives and breathes simplicity, with the home specifically designed to open up and become one with nature.
This openness not only provides a deep connection with local native flora and fauna, but also creates a sense of community and connection with the neighbouring homes.
The site’s careful orientation allows for maximum enjoyment of passive solar principles, with the morning sun streaming in through the eastern windows.

2. Anglesea Beach House
An idyllic beachside escape located in the scenic Victorian town of Anglesea, the Anglesea Beach house is a relaxing escape with space that can accommodate the whole family, friends, guests and furry pals.
With expansive decking areas, a shaded pergola, an outdoor BBQ, and an outside social area overlooking the gorgeous pool, this home is well-equipped for the warmer weather.
We mindfully selected the interior finishes at our Anglesea Beach House to create a sophisticated, yet relaxing space, perfect for a beach-side getaway. In the kitchen, impressive gradients of rich greys from the Signorino grey terrazzo splashback and Caesarstone benchtops in Rugged Concrete are offset by the warm timber veneer joinery in Lemon Myrtle.

3. Flinders House
The main premise of the site is to open up its outdoor areas towards a more public interface to break down the private / public zones.
Perfect orientation allows for morning sun to stream through the east windows and as the day progresses the large northern facade windows allows the winter sun deep penetration into the space with eaves blocking out the less favour some summer heat.
A mix of external materials includes: silver top ash and shiplap timber. Sustainably forested black butt timber floors and paneling ceiling and black and white timber Laminex cabinetry with solid timber shelving has been used internally.

4. Sandy Point Beach House
Set amongst the beach trees northwest of Wilson Promontory, this off-the-grid holiday home eschews the clichés of traditional beach side escapes – creating a sustainable haven where land and sea merge.
The contemporary home maintains a striking street presence, whilst being set sensitively into the surrounding environment. Employing passive solar design principles, the home is built with thermally efficient materials, careful north-facing orientation, and expansive double glazing.
The floor plan over two levels is cleverly proportioned to provide multiple living areas and a division between private and social spaces.
