Is an Arkular home suitable for different climatic conditions?
Yes! We use durable and resilient materials, high grade insulation, double-glazed windows and doors for high performing homes in various environments, including urban, rural, coastal, alpine, remote off-grid locations and BAL-rated areas.
Given the broad geography of our reach, our homes have to be adaptable for all climates from Antarctic winds in the South of Tasmania to the tropical conditions of North Queensland.
Are your modular homes Passivhaus certified?
Our homes are passively designed for extremely high levels of energy efficiency in a building, but are not passivhaus certified. We design energy efficient & footprint conscious homes, designing big rather than building big and paying attention to thermal efficiency through shading, glazing, orientation and renewable energy sources.
Can Arkular homes be Powered by Nature?
Arkular designs homes to sit in harmony with your site. Use of passive thermal design principles, tracking the sun, following the wind and getting to know the weather patterns set the rhythm for creating highly energy efficient Arkular spaces.
Are Arkular modular homes energy efficient?
Yes they certainly are. We implement passive design principles including considered orientation, shading, high-grade insulation, increased air-tightness, double glazed windows and doors and high quality materials for high thermal performing homes that are healthier to live in, more comfortable, and less costly to run.
Does Arkular work on projects that have a BAL rating?
Yes. Our homes are built to comply with a low-mid BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) rating. We can modify the design where required for mid-high BAL ratings and/or select alternative cladding and materials. We can service any level of BAL up to Flame Zone with structural and design changes.
