This clever U-shaped home has been designed to foster family interaction and functionality while maximising connection to its rural/coastal surroundings.

Layout

The home includes 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a spacious central kitchen and walk in pantry, open plan living/ dining space that flows onto an outdoor undercover space with kitchen and a laundry/ utility space.

Materials

Thoughtful material choices include charred and natural timbers, metal detailing and sustainably sourced stone. Modifications based on the Arkular Set Design Ark T3A ensure the home meets the family’s needs while adhering to safety standards for bushfire resilience.

BAL Rating

A BAL rating of 29 indicates a moderate to high risk of bushfire attack, with fire-resistant materials, ensuring adequate clearance from vegetation, and incorporating design features that minimise the risk of ember attack all implemented into the design. Compliance with the BAL rating is essential for ensuring the safety and longevity of the home in a bushfire-prone area.
