2. Less House More Home

Less is always more with Arkular. We capture the true essence of less house more home through considered design and customised modular architecture.

1. The Power of an Arkular Floorplan

A quality floor plan is an essential starting point for all our designs, providing the foundations for well-designed rooms. It’s about re-connecting to the land, inviting the outdoors in and utilising the best use of space.

Floorplans allow you to visualise the layout of your home, creates flow, considers best use of natural light and adds valuable space to your home.

2. Customised Modular Architecture

Considered architectural design tailored to you, the site and the unique landscape. We understand how needs evolve, so we provide universal design solutions that can adapt and respond to changing requirements.

We believe your home should be a space of connection, with yourself, your loved ones, pets and the surrounding landscape.

3. Smart Design for Easy Living

We incorporate smart design additions to make living easier, including integrated joinery, thoughtful storage solutions, considered mud/boot rooms and multi-purpose spaces.

3. Restore, Renew, Regenerate.

Sustainability and regeneration is no longer an optional extra; it’s essential for our future.

At Arkular we are looking at moving beyond sustainability, implementing regenerative practices to actively replenish the earth and reverse environmental damage.

We are mindful of our environmental impact throughout each phase of our homes life cycle – from concept to completion and beyond.

Biophilic Design

We incorporate Biophilic design principles to reconnect with nature and regenerate diverse plant species, integrating natural elements such as plants, natural light, and views of nature into the built form. Learn more about how Arkular implements Biophilic Design here.

Waste and Water Management

Water is a precious commodity.  We conserve and manage water in Arkular modular homes by including rainwater harvesting, greywater reuse, and the use of water-efficient fixtures such as low-flow toilets and taps.

At the end of the building’s life cycle, Arkulars dwellings can be uninstalled, disassembled and relocated if required. Disassembly allows for the reuse, repurposing or recycling of building components. A major benefit of prefab home is less waste production due to strictly controlled construction environments

Passive Design & Thermally Efficient Construction

We utilise Passive Design, high-performance building envelopes and renewable energy sources to minimise energy consumption, maximise energy efficiency and reduce emissions.

Working alongside the local climate to maintain a comfortable year-round temperature, we consider orientation, thermal mass, insulation and glazing to take advantage of natural sources of heating and cooling, such as sun and breezes to minimise unwanted heat gain and loss.

Circular Design

A restorative and regenerative approach to design. We apply principles of circularity through each phase of a dwelling’s life cycle, to optimise resources, reduce material usage and minimise waste. Learn more about Arkular’s circular path for a positive future here.

Arkular’s Partnership with Carbon Neutral & Path To B-corp Certification

At Arkular, we are committed to regenerative and environmentally conscious design practices that are sympathetic to the needs of the planet, animals and people.

We actively support regeneration thorough our partnership with Carbon Neutral, contributing to their Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor – Plant-a-Tree Program to help restore critical habitat for native wildlife.

We are also currently at the beginning of our journey to attain B-corp certification, striving to move beyond sustainable practices in every aspect of our business.

4. Homes for Health, Wellness & Happiness

Australians spend nearly 80 to 100 per cent of their time indoors at work and at home (VIC Gov, 2024).

Health

Air Quality and Sustainable Materials

We prioritise sustainable, responsibly sourced materials with low environmental impact that can be recycled or reused at the end of their lifecycle to enhance indoor environment quality and use low-VOC timber, paints, adhesives, sealants and formaldehyde-free products.

Native Vegetation and Habitat Enrichment

We encourage the use of native vegetation and habitat enrichment alongside all Arkular modular homes, for their ability to sequester carbon, provide natural cooling and purify the air, which will assist to tackle climate change and improve overall health and wellbeing of the occupants.

Wellness

We are passionate about designing homes that speak to the hearts of those who live inside, with considered wellness additions including outdoor baths/showers, saunas, plunge pools and flexible outdoor living spaces.

As keen observers of all natural eco-systems, we delight in harmonising indoor/outdoor flow and helping you reach maximum potential in health and home.

Happiness

We prioritise sustainable and non-toxic materials, connection to the natural world and increase natural light and ventilation to enhance the built environment and create spaces to thrive in.

Nothing is more important than fostering spaces for families to grow in safe, healthy environments. We use low-VOC timber, paints, adhesives, and sealants as well as products without formaldehyde. Strategic window placement to encourage cross ventilation.
