Mountain Living in Secluded Howqua
Located in the peaceful high country town of Howqua along the Howqua River, our Howqua House project is set amongst a secluded valley – the ultimate in solitude with access only by private bridge.
An outdoor-oriented family, the clients sought a space of refuge after a day of activity and to protect them from gusty winds that blow up the hill.
The home consists of two forms, joined by an entry knuckle that hugs the north-facing deck to capture the winter sun and provide a private retreat for the distillery.
During summer, the house expands out allowing the occupants to revel in indoor-outdoor living, entertaining and relaxing and take in the magnificent surrounding views.
