Go Green for the Future

In case you missed our previous blog post, we visited the amazing 2023 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

Take a look below at some more incredibly inspiring landscapes that were on display at the show this year.

“Consciousness” by Platylobium Landscape Design

A colourful, native and sustainably-driven design, Consciousness by Platylobium Landscape Design received the Silver Glit Show Garden Award.

“An elegant contemporary garden, “consciousness” was designed with both aesthetics and environmental impact in mind.

The use of locally and sustainably sourced materials, such as recycled brick, reclaimed timber, and rammed earth, reduces the carbon footprint of construction.

The garden features a variety of Australian plants, including Indigenous species from Melbourne, used in innovative ways to challenge traditional native garden design.”

Congratulations to the team for crafting a design filled with contrasting textures, colours, whilst focusing on sustainability. Click here to read more information about Platylobium’s design ‘Consciousness’.

The Duality Garden by Bronni Skinner

The Duality Garden designed by Bronnie Skinner explores the nature of duality and opposing elements that create beauty, balance and oneness.

“This courtyard garden is infused with an old-world feel with elements from both Mesoamerica and the Mediterranean, cultures adept at creating enduring landscapes within a harsh environment.

The swathe of milky blonde grass flows across the garden with grey-blue Agaves rising through the grass. An Olive feature tree offers shade over the stone seating area, nestled into the grass creating an intimate space for respite and reflection.

Inspired by the natural materials and techniques used, from the clay hewn walls to patinaed stone and timber, the earthiness these elements bring are imbued with history, their own story and inherent beauty.”

A beautiful mix of interesting plants, textures and tones, Bronni’s design is simply stunning. Find out more about Bronni Skinner’s design here.
