Refined minimal living. Simple design meets less fuss and clutter; the Howie reflects the ‘design big rather than build big’ philosophy.
The open-concept internal layout features multi-functional spaces that help create a clutter-free lifestyle. Site-specific orientation will help capture passive solar gains for year-round comfort.
Driven by function, the M1 ‘Howie’ is a set of multiple floorplan options that provide flexibility for different needs, from a compact 1-bedroom linear design to a 2-bedroom H-shaped home.

Flinders House with Garden by Jim Fogarty
2 Bed + 1 Bath – 66 m2
The properties frontage includes expansive glazed doors opening to a large deck, with battened awnings and screens providing shade and privacy.
The idea of using a prefabricated house by Arkular was important as the site had never been built on and wanted to do so with minimal disturbance to the property. The deck and pergola was designed by Jim Fogarty and features Ironbark timber decking boards and screens.

Howqua House
86 m2 – 2 Beds + 2 Baths
A rural retreat, this compact yet highly efficient H-shaped design provides the perfect family home base.
The home consists of two forms joined by an entry knuckle that hug the north-facing deck, capturing the winter sun and creating a private sanctuary for the distillery. Internally vaulted cathedral ceilings emphasise and celebrate the gable roof’s 26 degree internal pitch.

The Agricultural Lakehouse
58m2 – 1 Bed + 1 Bath
Sleek lines and considered design. The Agricultural Lakehouse takes cues from modern Scandinavian architecture while creating a relaxed Australian feel.
Traditional Scandinavian vernacular homes were more concerned with function over form, reflected in early turf houses in Iceland, with homes built with green roofs to provide affordable insulation.
